Resources for Independent Living’s Adult Protective Services (APS) Team protects vulnerable adults from maltreatment in the communities we serve.
APS is there to defend adults (over 18) who are unable to protect themselves from caregivers/family members/friends/outside influencers or those who are actively harming themselves.
When reporting a potential APS case be sure to have as much of the following information as possible:
- Person’s name, address, age, date of birth
- Nature of the abuse/neglect
- Description of the environment, situation, alleged abusers, home environment
All information is confidential, and callers can remain anonymous.
To initiate a report of abuse or neglect you must call 856-825-0255 and ask for APS.
